Other Super Fruits for Better Health
Fruits are naturally healthy but not all fruits could provide the same nutrients. Some are considered healthy just because they have simple nutritional values. But there are fruits dubbed as “super fruits” because of their massive nutritional value. Some of these fruits are mangosteen, goji berries and acai berries.
Acai Berry
This South American berry has the looks of a regular blueberry but packs a lot more nutrients than its North American counterpart. Acai berry is mainly found in the Amazon swamps in Brazil. This type of berry has the most omega acids when compared to most fruits. This type of berry became very popular when it was included in the list of Oprah’s super foods.
The health benefit of Acai berry is based on the fact that it has a good number of anti-oxidants. With a strong anti-oxidant content, this type of berry could help in preventing certain diseases as well as addressing age problems. The fatty and omega acids in acai berry are also strong and these acids help in losing weight and developing muscles.
Acai berry is already popular in Brazil. This has been highly recommended by Brazilian jujitsu masters as this has helped in improving their energy. Acai berries are usually available in North America as frozen or concentrated.

In some countries where mangosteen naturally grows, it is even used in to address certain skin conditions as they are transformed into topical cream.
Goji Berry
Also known as Wolfberry, this sweet tasting berry mainly grows in Tibet and Mongolia. This type of berry is a little bit difficult to produce as they require shelter all the time. These berries are produced in areas with no direct sunlight. These berries come in red color and the plants could go as high as three meters. But even with this height, picking them is very easy as they are just shaken off the tree and they would fall off the branch with no effort at all.
The health benefits of this berry are geared towards the internal organs particularly liver and kidneys. Fruits (dried), root bark, leaves and the tree bark of goji have health benefits and have been transformed for ease of intake. Extracts of these parts of goji are transformed into health pill supplements while the leaves are usually transformed into tea. When properly used, goji berries could help address high blood pressure, menopausal pains, eyesight problems and even vertigo. It’s even called the “happy berry” because of its mood alleviating properties. Goji berry is often transformed into health pill supplements because it’s most potent effect is when they are taken internally.
